Connecting With Your Spiritual Self

Over the last few years, I’ve discovered what it means to feel connected to my spiritual self. I believe the soul is one of the most influential parts of living one’s best life. Our inner spirit is receptive and connected not only to our environment but to each other.

For example, think of a time when you entered a room with a group of people and sensed the energy present? You may not have referred to this experience as a spiritual moment, but our higher conscious is always communicating with us. Whether we are tuned into this connection is what varies. In today’s post, I will be sharing with you some of the ways you can learn to connect with your spiritual self.

Define What Spirit Means To You

Before you can connect with your spiritual self, you must define what spiritual connectedness means to you. For some, it’s a feeling of internal peace and balance. Others may describe spiritual connectedness in terms of religious faith.

Regardless of how you define feeling connected to your inner spirit, know that it’s a unique and individual experience. I feel spiritually connected to my being throughout the day. This feeling begins with my morning routine when I take the time to determine how I want to feel that day. Answering this question helps cultivate both a mental and spiritual connection with oneself.

Determine How You Want To Feel Each Day

When I sit down to journal in the morning, I’m deciding how I want to feel that day. I recently began using journal prompts, which helps me to focus on setting a positive tone throughout the day. Taking the time to write your thoughts on paper is a great way to connect with your spiritual self.

It provides you with insight into your thinking and behavioral patterns. Looking back on past entries gives you a sense of areas you may want to improve in your life. Determining how I want to feel through journaling has been a great outlet for me mentally, and has helped me to approach each day with intention.

Approach Each Day With Intention

When you have a clear vision of what you want your life to be like, you learn to zero in on the things that matter. Having a clear picture of what I want to accomplish each day helps me to feel like I’m living a more purposeful life. As a result, I feel more connected to my spiritual self.

To help you start each day with intention, ask yourself the following questions.

  • How do I want to feel today?
  • What can I do each day that will help me feel connected to my spiritual self?
  • What does living with intention mean to me?

Take some time to answer these questions and feel free to use them as journal prompts. Your response may hold the key to the things that move you on a spiritual level.

What Moves You On a Spiritual Level

Having an understanding of what moves you on a spiritual level is another aspect of connecting with your spiritual self. Being aware of the environments, situations, and people that affect your inner spirit allows you to develop a positive response, whether these things are positive or negative.

The following are some questions you can ask yourself to gain a better understanding of what moves you on a spiritual level.

  • What about this experience, situation, or person makes me feel positive or negative?
  • How can I better prepare myself to handle negativity in a positive way?
  • What can I do to ensure I’m maintaining a positive spirit regardless of my external environment?

Connecting with your spiritual self helps you to face situations and circumstances beyond your control with clarity. As a result of this strong spiritual awareness, you are able to maintain a certain level of internal peace.

What Brings You Internal Peace?

Life is constantly challenging us, testing our ability to overcome everyday struggles and adversity. Being able to turn to activities and people that bring internal peace provides comfort and a sense of security. Whether it’s physical fitness, meditation, or spending time in nature, being able to engage in these meaningful activities will help you remain connected with your inner spirit.
